Elections for RRCO Board members occur each March. If you have ever thought of running for the Board or voting for Board members, our charter requires that you attend at least one meeting in the calendar year. You can still qualify by attending the February meeting. Five board members' terms will end in March. After a business meeting, two presentations will be made. The first is about the new historic designation for the Brunner-Schmitz House* and the other presentation by Eugene's Sustainability Commission with Shawn Boles.

* The Brunner-Schmitz House will be hosting an open house for the public on the 29th of January from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All are welcome.

Announcements

Please remember to use caution before firing up wood stoves. Air inversions occur frequently this time of year. If the Lane Regional Air Protection Agency waits until the red hazard, then it is really too late to prevent harm. There is an online complaint form now, and LRAPA can send out a warning letter to residents who have a lot of smoke coming out of their chimneys. The letter cites Lane County code and a huge fine if repeated complaints are received. Also, there is a new law against selling a house with an uncertified wood stove.
